Byzantine Hagiography of the Archangel Gabriel
Archangel Gabriel is one of the four main archangels in Christianity. His name means "Power of God," and he is often referred to as God's angelic ambassador to humans.
Gabriel played an important role in the divine announcement, announcing the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary as well as other important divine commands and announcements in the Bible. It is a symbol of faith, service and divine communication in Christianity.
Hagiography occupies an important place in church art due to its self-evident artistic value. In addition to this, a hagiographic image connects man with the holiness of the person depicted.
All our Hagiographies are painted with egg tempera while you can choose the size of the image, the decoration of the background and the language of the inscriptions as well as the type of wood you wish to use.
