Βυζαντινή Αγιογραφία του Αγίου Νικολάου.

Saint Nikolaos is known for his generosity and protection of sailors, children and the poor.

He was born in the 3rd century in Lycia, an area of present-day Turkey. He devoted his life to piety and charity, giving away his fortune to help the poor and children.

He is universally recognized as the patron saint of Sailors, children and the poor.

Hagiography occupies a valuable place in church art because beyond its self-evident artistic value, a hagiographic image unites man with the holiness of the depicted person.

All our Hagiographies are painted with egg tempera while you can choose the size of the image, the decoration of the background and the language of the inscriptions as well as the type of wood you wish to use.

Note: The final icon may differ slightly from the catalog photo.
